Typical Tasks

The Engineering Apprenticeship Access Programme will involve you completing a combination of the following units, designed to give you a foundation level of skills and knowledge within general engineering disciplines, leading to the achievement of the Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations:

  • Electrical Wiring and Testing
  • Mechanical Maintenance
  • Hand Fitting
  • Health and Safety
  • Communication and Efficiency
  • Data and Documentation
  • Using and Operating Lathes
  • Using and operating Milling Machines

Entry criteria

The EAAP is suitable for anyone who already holds a GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics with NO prior engineering qualifications level 2 or above and is considering a career in Engineering.

It is important to note that completing the Apprenticeship Access Programme will increase the likelihood of employers offering you an Apprenticeship as it actually forms part of the overall Apprenticeship. Our previous cohort we have had a 100% success rate of Access Programme graduates progressing into Apprenticeships. We have Engineering opportunities advertised throughout TDR, which come in at all times.
