Turning is a material removal process which is used to manufacture components. The turning process requires a lathe, workpiece, workholding, tool holding and cutting tools. The material is held in the workholding; either a chuck, mandrel or other fixture, and the cutting tools are set along with appropriate speeds (RPM) and feeds.
Manual metal arc welding (MMA or MMAW), also known as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux shielded arc welding or stick welding, is a process where the arc is struck between an electrode flux coated metal rod and the work piece. Active gas mixtures have been developed primarily for welding steels. Typical shielding gases are mixtures of argon, carbon dioxide and oxygen.
Oxy Fuel Cutting is a thermal cutting process that uses oxygen and fuel gas (such as acetylene, propane, propylene and natural gas) to cut through materials.

In the Tungsten Inert Gas Welding (TIG) welding process the arc is formed between a tungsten electrode and the workpiece in an inert atmosphere of argon or helium. The small intense arc provided by the electrode is ideal for high quality and precision welding. When filler metal is required, it must be added separately to the weld pool.
