General Description

We will provide you with the correct skills and experience to further your career with the support you need to perform to your full potential. You will learn MIG welding, fabrication, use of hand held plasma cutting and oxy/propane cutting and gouging, how to read engineering drawings.

Main Duties

What will the apprentice be doing?

We are looking to recruit a welding and fabrication apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a “can do” attitude looking to join a successful, progressive company who is a leading manufacturer of buckets, quick couplers, and other earth-moving attachments.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team and have a flexible, logical, and analytical approach to problem solving.

You must be punctual, reliable and have a keen willingness to learn.

You will learn:

  • MIG Welding
  • Fabrication
  • Use of hand held plasma cutting and oxy/propane cutting and gouging
  • How to read engineering drawings

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Metal Fabricator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • You will work towards a metal fabricator standard and will sit end point assessment
  • Initial training will be at TDR training in Longbenton for 10 weeks
  • Training will take place in the workplace
