CAD Apprentice (D3 UK)


General Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a CAD Apprentice. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience and training in the field of computer-aided design

Main Duties

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Conduct detailed analysis of design requirements, specifications, and project objectives to develop innovative mechanical design solutions.
  • Utilise CAD software and other design tools to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct material selection and evaluation, considering factors such as mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, weight optimisation, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, engineering drawings, and technical reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records throughout the design and development process.
  • Commit to learning fast and learning by doing, through the use of prototypes, simulation and other testing and validation.
  • Learn the technical documentation such as quality documentations, certifications, quality assurance, non-compliance reporting, customer specifications and project management requirements for D3-UK.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Engineering Design and Draughtsperson standard

All training will be delivered in the workplace
