Overview
This programme provides production operatives with practical training in mechanical strip-down, inspection, maintenance, and reassembly of heat transfer equipment. The course develops essential skills in safe tool use, fault identification, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a workshop environment. Learners will gain hands-on experience using correct maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Mechanical Maintenance for Productive Operatives
- By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Apply workshop safety rules including PPE, COSHH, risk assessments, and SOPs
- Select and use hand tools and torque tools safely and correctly
- Identify faults, wear, and leakage issues in mechanical systems
- Carry out structured strip-down, cleaning, and reassembly tasks
- Apply correct first-line maintenance techniques
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality and function
- Complete maintenance records accurately
