Overview
This intensive two-day course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to create, edit, and safely prove CNC turning programs using Fanuc G-code and Manual Guide i. Designed for beginners, the course covers the fundamentals of 2-axis CNC turning (X & Z axes) and develops confidence in programming, editing, and operating Fanuc-controlled lathes in a production environment.
Training & Content
- Learning Outcomes:Participants will learn to:
- Understand Fanuc CNC lathe controls and navigation.
- Create and edit programs using Manual Guide i and G-code.
- Understand machine zero, work offsets, and tool offsets.
- Program facing, turning, boring, grooving, drilling, and threading operations.
- Apply spindle speed and feed rate controls.
- Safely prove, simulate, and restart CNC programs.
- Identify and resolve common programming and machine alarms.
Course Structure:
- Day 1: Fanuc control fundamentals, turning principles, Manual Guide i programming, tooling, and machining operations.
- Day 2: Building complete programs, editing and optimisation, program proving, troubleshooting, safe restart procedures, and assessment.
Assessment:
Participants will complete a practical programming exercise and competence assessment.
