AI Pledge

Last updated 13 July 2026

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing how people learn and work. At TDR, we recognise the opportunities AI brings to improve learning, productivity and efficiency. We also recognise our responsibility to use it carefully, ethically and transparently. This pledge sets out how we use AI in a way that is safe, fair and always focused on the needs of our learners.

People come first

AI supports our people; it does not replace them.

Every apprentice and learner works with real tutors, assessors and mentors who know them as individuals. Relationships, professional judgement and human expertise remain at the heart of everything we do.

Decisions about learner progress, assessment, achievement and support are made by qualified professionals, not by AI systems.

Human oversight

AI can make mistakes, provide inaccurate information or miss important context. While we review AI-generated content before it is used, errors can still occur. For this reason, AI is used to support our work, not to make decisions about learners.

Fairness and inclusion

We choose and use AI tools carefully to avoid bias and to make sure no learner is disadvantaged because of their background, needs or circumstances. If a tool cannot meet that standard, we do not use it.

Honesty and academic integrity

We are open about where AI is used in our training. We also help learners understand how to use AI responsibly. Qualifications should reflect a learner’s own knowledge, skills and understanding, not simply the output of an AI tool.

Protecting your data

We never put personal or sensitive information into public AI tools in a way that would put it at risk. Any use of AI follows our data protection responsibilities under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Preparing learners for the real world

AI is becoming part of modern workplaces. We help apprentices develop the skills and judgement to use these tools responsibly while remaining accountable for their own work and decisions.

Always learning

AI technology is evolving rapidly. We regularly review our approach, train our staff and listen to feedback from learners and employers to ensure our use of AI remains safe, responsible and effective.

Want to know more? If you have a question about how we use AI, we are happy to talk it through. Contact us at skillsdevelopment@tdrtraining.co.uk or on 0191 491 1505.
